				<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The <em>Los Angeles Times</em> <a  href="http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/lanow/2010/06/bicyclist-kicked-lapd-video-bp-protest.html">reports</a> that four officers at the scene of a bicycle rally protesting the Gulf Oil Spill last week (see our featured video to the right) have been &#8220;removed from the field&#8221; pending an investigation.</p>
<p>The good news is that video captured the action, or probably nothing would have been done. The bad news is this comes despite a <a  href="http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/lanow/2010/02/in-a-first-lapd-chief-vows-to-better-protect-cyclists-train-officers-on-biker-rights.html">pledge</a> just a few months ago from the Los Angeles police chief to promote better treatment of cyclists by police.</p>
