Bike Intelligencer » bike commuter tax credit All bike, all the time Mon, 20 Jul 2015 21:20:13 +0000 en-US hourly 1 Daily Roundup: Wallingford rider down, Pilot sues, Bike tax credit, Electra recall Thu, 12 Mar 2009 14:42:23 +0000 Seattle Times: “Bicyclist struck by vehicle in Wallingford.” No word on how it happened, but observation in comments is that drivers go too fast at that intersection.

Meanwhile, in Texas, our “no citation issued” watch continues. If there’s an accident involving a bicycle, even if the cyclist dies, you can pretty much count on no citation being issued at the scene.

Are lawsuits the answer? A Delta pilot is suing over a broken clavicle and ribs he suffered when a dog ran into his bicycle’s path. $300,000 should get their attention.

Oregon Live: has the answers: “I’ve heard about the new Bicycle Commuter Tax Credit from the federal government. I understand that I can get up to $20 a month for commuting by bike. But how does it work? Does it show up on my paycheck? Where do I sign up for it?” It’s $20 a month credit, well worth the effort.

Have a bike with a front tray? If it’s made by Electra, it may be under recall. More here. Given the company’s recall history, you might want to avoid Electra itself. (I’ve never even seen an Electra bike, but will keep my eyes peeled!)
