<p>More on the nation&#8217;s bike-commuting boom: <a  href="http://www.nydailynews.com/ny_local/2009/11/10/2009-11-10_bicycle_use_wheely_surging.html" target="_blank">New York</a>. <a  href="http://www.cyclelicio.us/2009/11/san-jose-bike-commuting-up-206.html" target="_blank">San Jose</a> (Cyclelicio.us has a rundown on some others&#8230;) Seattle&#8217;s increases — up 27 percent from 2005 to 2008 and 29 percent from 2008 to 2009 — aren&#8217;t among the leaders, but it has a pretty broad base and comparatively strong percentage (modal share) of bike commuters.
