The longtime upper watershed trail network keeps evolving and maturing, and now much of it is incorporated into the official Super D downhill race course. We checked it out and had a rippin’ time!

Here’s pro racer Carl Decker riding some of the same stuff, only a whole lot better. I watched this video thinking, Wow, he’s really railing, but as good as he’s riding, who’s managing to keep pace on the helmet cam behind him? Then I saw that it was Adam Craig and hmmm, it all made sense!

Adam just won the 2011 Ashland Super D race (results here), with Carl finishing third.

Top of Alice in Wonderland, looking good!


Big gathering this weekend in Ashland for the annual 12-mile Super D downhill race. We had the chance to scout the course earlier this week and despite a wet and cold spring it was primo Ashland — tacky, not dusty, just slightly soft in a couple of places lower down. A few spots are a bit rutted and it won’t get any better over the course of 3 days of pounding. But what a scene!

Caterpillar is dry and tacky.



Rebecca Rusch is in town along with pros from all over. This is the “spring Downieville” so catch it if you’re in the area! Full schedule here.
