[Note: Pivot will be bringing its bike fleet to Bothell Ski & Bike on Saturday and St. Edwards Park on Sunday (July 26 and 27) for demo-ing from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. I bought a 6.5-inch Firebird with the DW-Link in mid-June and have ridden it virtually daily. It confirmed what my Ibis Mojo [...]

Is bike thievery on the rise along with burglaries and robberies — another sign of hard economic times? No statistical data yet but anecdotal evidence suggests yes. The above photo was taken near a bike rack at the Caltrain station in Menlo Park CA. Cyclelicio.us reports on a brazen thief caught in the act in [...]

You hate to see this from a trusted, respected brand. CromotoStem has the full list of affected stems. About 8,600 units were produced. The second mountain [...]

Possibly carbon crank arms. Chainring teeth options speculated include 26/39, 28/42 and 30/44T. Cassette options: 11-32, 11-34, 11-36T. Bipartite rotors, alloy spider, steel donut. Here’s the visual:

So yeah, you’re stuck riding at night without a taillight…but you’ve got your iPhone! This supposedly is an app that converts your device screen into a blinker. Um, right. How much did you pay for your phone/iPod Touch? You’re mounting it how, exactly?

Mountain Biking by 198, a ripping bike blog, has a detailed review of the 2009 RockShox Reba Team fork. I ride a RockShox Lyrik on my Intense 6.6 which I’ll be reviewing soon, but the quick take on RockShox is that the forks really rock. In my sojourns around the West Coast I run into [...]

My first bike was a custom fat-tire special, built by hand by my grandfather in Seattle. I got it for my third-grade Christmas present. I rode it all over Seattle. It had no decals, no name, and was a bit big for me. It may have been made out of plumbing conduit but I loved [...]
