		<description><![CDATA[In Texas, bicycle riders can&#039;t be charged with DUI/DWI.  State law defines those for motorized vehicles.  But as the Austin Chief of Police recently pointed out (quite strongly) at a recent ACA meeting, you can be charged with public intoxication.  This includes arrest and impoundment of the &quot;vehicle&quot; based on officer&#039;s judgement.  

Should the DWI law be rewritten?  Perhaps.  Not sure if cycling under influence is a huge problem but in the interest of fairness...]]></description>
