Daily Roundup: Cyclist Mugging Folo, Robin Williams on Twitter, Boise Closure, Boston Bike Cops

Seattle’s Cascade Bicycle Club and city of Seattle staff have called a meeting on “Rider Safety & the I-90 Tunnel” following a cyclist’s mugging in Sam Smith Park last week. The session will be held at the park itself next Tuesday, March 10, from 4 to 6 p.m. And if you’ve been assaulted or threatened, the club would like to hear about it.

Lance Armstrong twittered that he spoke with Robin Williams, who’s doing fine after his shortness-of-breath attack. Lance probably said, Robin, you think you have shortness of breath? Let me tell you about the Alpe d’Huez… Williams is roadrider57 on Twitter.

Idaho Statesman: “Boise Foothills trail officials are fed up with hikers, runners and mountain bikers who continue to hike and bike on muddy trails and trails may be closed next winter.” At least they didn’t blame it all on mountain bikers…

Boston.com: “Davis told his command staff in a meeting today that the horse unit and the bicycle unit could be disbanded and that 10 or more recruits in the Boston Police Academy could be laid off.” Check the comments section; people don’t want the bike cops to go!
